FOGMAKER International AB is a Swedish company that develops and manufactures fire suppression systems with high-pressure water mist for protecting engine compartments and other enclosed spaces, regardless of type. Its authorized representative in Hungary is J&J (PSV) Kft.

FOGMAKER has more than 25 years of experience and more than 250,000 installations in over 50 countries.

The demand for a higher level of safety has increased in recent years and the FOGMAKER system is now recognized by insurance companies worldwide, in line with the expectations of vehicle manufacturers and operators.

WHY USE AN INTEGRATED EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM?

In the automotive industry, there is an increasing demand for reducing emissions and noise levels. As a result, there is a rising trend for the use of more compact and sealed engine compartments and fuel systems operating at increasingly higher pressures. This has led to, among other things, higher operating air temperatures in the engine compartment. Thus, the chances of engine compartment fires have obviously increased! Indeed, it is impossible to protect against fast spreading flames with conventional and manual fire extinguishers.

Therefore the main strengths of the integrated FOGMAKER fire suppression system are as follows:

it is suitable for any engine compartment or enclosed space that is difficult to reach with conventional, manual fire suppression technologies;
instead of having major consequential damages, the exceptionally fast and efficient FOGMAKER extinguishing technology minimizes recovery costs.

CHALLENGE

The greatest challenge is represented by the complexity, hazards and physical aspects of confined spaces and engine fires. Fires in enclosed spaces or engine compartments are very difficult to detect and stop in time, as they often build up very quickly.

It is almost impossible to put out this type of fire in confined spaces or engine compartments with portable fire extinguishers. Therefore, the solution for protecting enclosed spaces and engine compartments is to install fully automated and integrated fire suppression systems.

FIRE TRIANGLE

A fire always requires the simultaneous presence of three elements: heat, oxygen and fuel. These three fire components are frequently symbolized by the fire triangle. Removing one of these components is often enough to put out a fire, but due to the complexity of fires, re-ignition in the engine compartment may still occur. This is why a so-called triple action fire suppression system, which simultaneously counters all three sides of the fire triangle, is the safe way to protect human life and property. The patented FOGMAKER technology counters all three sides of the fire with water mist created at 100 bar pressure.

FIRE EXTINGUISHING IN 10 SECONDS

The FOGMAKER system spreads a fine spray of high-pressure water mist throughout the protected space. Heat causes this water mist to intensely vaporize, forcing oxygen out of the combustion area. This intense evaporation provides effective cooling (with a temperature drop of around 700 °C within 10 seconds) and reduces the amount of oxygen in the protected area. The extinguishing agent is water-based, containing some antifreeze additive and a film-forming chemical which, once activated, forms a film-like layer on the combustible material, preventing the fire from re-igniting. The chance of flames reviving after the suppression is minimal.

distributor AGREEMENT

A commercial agreement was signed between Swedish Fogmaker International AB and Hungarian J&J (PSV) Kft. providing the framework for exclusive sales and full service support in Hungary.

J&J presented the FOGMAKER automatic fire suppression system for the first time to a wide professional audience at a workshop in Balatonvilágos.

nationwide service coverage

The growing number of customers required an expansion of resources and also greater mobility. The engineer team was bolstered and the FOGMAKER service fleet was launched with nationwide coverage.
